Introduction:

Imagine not knowing where your next meal will come from. For many of the over 300,000 homeless individuals in the UK, this is a daily reality. The NutriBuddy project is here to change that by providing a nutritious, portable food option specifically designed to meet their needs.

Why It Matters:

Homeless people often have diets that are high in processed fat and processed sugar but low in essential nutrients. This leads to serious health issues, both physical and mental. The NutriBuddy Bar is a portable solution that offers balanced nutrition in a convenient form at times when no food is available.

Our Mission:

The NutriBuddy Bar is designed to address the severe nutritional deficiencies faced by homeless people. Each 100g bar is packed with essential nutrients, providing a balanced mix of protein, fibre, vitamins, and natural sugars to offer sustained energy and help improve overall health.

Key Features:

  • Nutritious and Balanced: Each bar is a source of protein, fibre, thiamine (B1), vitamin C and vitamin D.
  • Significant Energy: Each bar provides 20% of the daily recommended calorific energy requirement of an average adult.
  • Portable and Practical: Compact and long-lasting, perfect for consumption at any time of the day.
  • Great Value: Cost effective, your sponsorship donations go a long way in supporting our cause.

Support The Cause: As a not-for-profit initiative, 100% of your donations can make a huge difference:

Endorsements:

“ I believe this pocket-sized Nutrition Food Bar targeted to those homeless people who unfortunately find themselves in hostels or sleeping rough is important. It can be stored in a pocket or bag, and in an emergency situation when no food is available, it not only provides something to eat but also sustenance that is nutritionally beneficial.” Bob Blackman MP, Co-Chair, All-Party Parliamentary Group for Ending Homelessness

“Portable high quality food for our homeless population is something I’ve never heard of, so I wholeheartedly endorse this unique initiative and am happy to be involved!”  Prof Al Story, Find &Treat Clinical Lead, University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

“I think the NutriBuddy product will be really useful for our clients – its something that people can keep in their pockets if they get hungry throughout the day; the Outreach Teams are really keen to trial it; it’s really useful at assessment stage for people coming in and feeling hungry to give them something more healthy with a cup of tea” Steve Davies, St Mungo’s Regional Head West London

"Sometimes the residents don't want to eat meals at set times and this Bar will be something we could offer them. Also these Bars could be a good alternative to the residents who don't want what is on offer in the kitchen and will benefit from the nutrition."  Tracie, Deputy Supported Housing Manager, One YMCA Watford

This is perfect to carry around – two or three times a week, I find I don’t have any food. Good that it’s soft as I’ve only got a few good teeth and I can crush it with my tongue” Mike (mid-60s), Homeless, Soho (London)

“I’m hungry and not eaten for 2 days, so happy to have it, and it’s healthy – love it!” Byron (mid-20s), Homeless, Piccadilly Circus (London)

“It’s got goodness; I can keep it in my pocket – fits nicely – because I can’t keep greasy chips as it ruins my clothes “ Tommy (mid-60s), Homeless, Tottenham Court Road (London)
